We use the following technologies:

1.1 Cookies

Small text files stored by your browser.

1.2 Local Storage

Data saved by your browser for offline availability.

1.3 Session Storage

Temporary data used while the browser tab is open.

1.4 Device and Security Identifiers

A visitor ID and related security information stored locally to help prevent abuse.

2. Why We Use Them

2.1 Strictly Necessary

Required for authentication and sessions, platform security, loading essential UI features, and assigning a visitor ID for abuse prevention. These cannot be disabled without breaking functionality.

2.2 Performance and Analytics

Used to understand platform usage and performance. These are anonymized, and analytics cookies require opt in where applicable.

2.3 Functionality

Helps store UI preferences, map state, and user settings.

2.4 Offline Mode (Local Storage)

To ensure Civica works during outages or low connectivity periods, we store approximately 20 MB of data locally, including cached map tiles, cached pins, and small UI or configuration files. This allows the map to remain usable even when the internet is unavailable.

3. Third Parties

Some features rely on third party services such as map providers, CDNs, or analytics partners. These parties may set cookies or store data according to their own policies. We do not control and are not responsible for their cookie practices.

4. Managing Cookies and Local Storage

You may delete cookies, clear local storage, or disable certain cookie categories in your browser. However, disabling essential cookies may break Civica, and clearing local storage removes offline capability until new data is cached. Marketing or optional analytics cookies are activated only after consent.
